Self-defense expert Jeffrey M. Miller, founder and director of Warrior Concepts International, will be conducting a defensive combat handgun seminar on Saturday and Sunday, March 19th & 20th, at his company's training facility in Sunbury, Pa.
The primary purpose of the seminar is to teach participants the skills necessary for safely and effectively using and defending against a handgun in a life-threatening situation.
Through the use of time-tested and proven tactics, strategies and techniques, participants will come to understand the effect and illusions accepted as reality from TV and movies; and, they will learn the difference between target shooting and realities of a self-defense situation involving a firearm."In general, people are under false-assumptions and totally unprepared for the realities of a self-defense situation involving the use of firearms," says Miller, a former federal police officer, private investigator, and bodyguard.
"This includes law enforcement and security professionals especially."Miller, who has made it his life-mission to make sure that everyone gets accurate information about self-defense and safety issues says that, most of us have been heavily influenced by the media, including movies and television in our understanding of what is and is not possible in a dangerous situation.
This, coupled with a lack of understanding about what happens to us physiologically when under stress, leaves most completely unprepared and often incapable of surviving a life-threatening situation where guns are involved. The seminar, which will cover what Miller calls "The 4 Pillars of Firearm Defense Tactics," will focus on the foundational skills needed to be effective.
Topics will focus on being able to neutralize the effects of stress-induced trauma and to develop the basic skills that will allow someone to stand a fighting chance.
The seminar topics will be split between the two days of training,
Unarmed defense against a firearm, disarms, and weapon retention skills will be taught on Saturday, while the basics of using the firearm in a defensive situation against an armed assailant will be taught on Sunday.
Sunday's training will include both practice and "live-fire" training at an off-site location.Miller conducts several seminars per year and has trained members of law enforcement and other government enforcement agents, security professionals, and private citizens both here in the US and Canada.
With the exception of the FBI, SWAT units, and a few other agencies, the majority of the people who need this type of training are not getting it, reports Miller, drawing from his own experience in the fields of law enforcement and security.
The fact is, that many officers, agents and citizens carrying firearms for defensive purposes, have less experience and training than the attackers they are likely to meet.Whether you're an expert or just starting out, don't miss out on this opportunity to get some of the best information and training available.

Encino, CA
November 17, 2004 - California employers looking for a ready compliance solution for the new California law on sexual harassment training (AB 1825) will find quick and easy one-stop shopping at the BusinessTrainingMedia.com website.
BTM offers free previews of a variety sexual harassment training programs that meet all the directives of the new law.
Those requirements include that training be provided by trainers with "knowledge and expertise" and that training include "practical examples aimed at instructing supervisors in the prevention of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation." The new law requires California employers with 50 or more employees to provide two hours of sexual harassment training to all supervisors once every two years.
An important feature of the law is that merely sitting supervisors down and showing them a video or requiring them to do some reading would probably not be enough to satisfy the law's requirement for...
